Liverpool Clinical Services Block 2
Glass graphics DNA inspired pattern

Completed in 2011, Liverpool Clinical Services Block 2 (CSB2) formed part of an overall redevelopment of the Western Sydney hospital campus. They made great use of the light filtering through its northern aspect and glass was naturally the chosen hero, the medium to which I was given to work with whilst still employed at Rice Daubney (now HDR Rice Daubney).

Our brief was to create a DNA inspired frit pattern on the glass that would provide privacy to patients and medical professionals, whilst maintaining a sense of elegance, complementary to the clean architectural design and matching the already muted neutral colour palette of the environment. The simple, yet effective block design achieved its purpose of filtering ample light into the centre of the building, whilst blocking out prying eyes from private spaces. The modern, contemporary design feature has received praise from staff, patients and visitors and I’m once again proud to have delivered a successful branded environment.
