Design Brief

Develop an identity system for the newly formed Miwok Indian Association. The system should have symbolic meaning connected to Miwok culture.

Concept

The mark design and color palette for this identity system encompass the two main aspects of Miwok culture: their spirituality and their connection to the earth. The oak leaf represents their reliance on and ties to the earth, as the main food source for the Miwok people was the acorn. The feather and coyote represent their spirituality, being important symbols pulled from Miwok myths.
