Extra
Woo Publication · Fall 2019

Woo Publication is Emily Carr University of Art + Design’s student-run publication that showcases student, faculty, and alumni work from all disciplines. There are two issues of Woo every year. Fun Fact: Our publication name came from Emily Carr’s pet monkey, Woo!

As editor in chief, my goals for the publication are to continuously challenge the form of the publication, to engage the community at Emily Carr, and to create something new and interesting! So Extra, the Fall 2019 Issue of Woo, came to life in hopes to pop & boom, make noise, and speak loud! The common slang, “you’re so extra,” that we say to our friends about a project that we just worked so hard on, is embodied in this publication. Extra embraces and celebrates all of the long hours and meticulous work put into each and every one of our projects.

I led a team of designers, media creators, and editors through an exciting journey of connecting with the Emily Carr community, while making something memorable together. Many thanks to my directors, the entire Woo team, and the participants for making Extra possible!
