Casa Nao
Beach Residence / Playa Venao, Panama / 2019
Renders and Architectural design by Yvonne Bennett

Casa Nao is planned to celebrate the tropical paradise in which it is located, Playa Venao. Mixing natural materials like wood and brick with contemporary details like glass doors and concrete floors, the house creates a modern tropical feel.

The common areas of the house are divided into three, each one has a different roofed structure; the kitchen and dining room, the open-air living room, and the playroom or den.  The concept of the house allows the three spaces to interact; they can even be enclosed individually by sliding doors or they can be merged, allowing a larger space and a different feel.

The house is planned with large sloping roofs. Having different heights and directions, they create an interesting play of shapes on the building’s facades. They are proposed with an exposed wooden structure to follow the tropical language that identifies the house.

The site's magnificent ocean view is the main focus of the house, the whole design is planned to take advantage of this treasure. At the moment you enter the building you have uninterrupted ocean views, and you continue to have them in each space of the house.
