Personal project, made in 2019, made in approx. 7 days
The day my mother passed away, I found this short story in one of her drawers. Under each paragraph she had written “illustration”, and I knew she had me in mind. I immediately got the idea to set up this booklet, that I could distribute to all my mother’s loved ones.
She never got to finish writing this short story, which inspired me for the layout. I put the text in fragments, starting at different levels on the page. The illustrations are simple, almost abstract, to emphasise the unfinished atmosphere.
“Broen” means bridge in danish. The story is about crossing a bridge between two planets, a metaphor for taking a leap of faith.
