Visual Identity Design

Visual identity design for one of the best known young, Hungarian tattoo artist, Balázs Bercsényi, a member of the world’s most famous tattoo shop: Bang Bang New York. Balázs wanted an identity that can appear on his private identity elements – business card, website, other communication tools –, but which is also appliable to commercial and art projects as well as to collaborations with other brands. Analysing the artist’s works and his signature under his posts we identified the symbol of five plus signs he uses very frequently, and decided to use this as central element of his identity. In case of his private identity, commercial and art projects we used four of the plus signs in the four corners of the surface that always adapt to the actual surface, while the fifth one appears between his first and family name, or his family name and the project’s title (CHAPTER No.1 for his fashion label, STORIES for his art projects) . In case of collaborations, where the use of the sign X is common practice between two brands, the fifth plus sign is rotated and creates an X character.
