Aztec Mystery - POP!Slots Game Art

At the begging of this project I had envisioned a machine that has only totems/mask and inanimate objects from the Aztec culture, without any characters or living creatures, to fit a story of discovering an ancient long lost temple with treasures.
So my first take on the main symbols and machine was this -
...But I was asked to include a main character.

The new story went along these lines -
A princess in exile discovers the truth about her past, as well as her power over the guardian animals of her tribe, and ventures on a quest into the deep jungle to reclaim her heritage and find the ancient pyramids of her people.

I was asked to try and shift the style away from the cartoon, to fit the more mature theme of the game, so I went in the opposite direction -
I decided to bring some more realism to the symbols by modeling the gods "masks" symbols in 3D:
Final Symbol Set
3D done by: Igor Kreinin (mask symbols), Ron Abecassis (Golden Sun-Coin) and Niv Caspi (Wild diamond).
"Wild" typography done by Kirill Goldberg.

Cabinet Concept and Design for 3D:
And there's everything together!
Now to the Bonus Game!
Our goal was to create a sort of a journey through ancient Aztec world towards a grand golden pyramid where the main treasure is hidden.
There was a lot of 3D work and trial and error in very short deadlines involved, but I had a great team to work with =)

So first comes the design for the Isometric Corner of the game, the way it'll be seen in the casino floor in the app -
For the Bonus Game itself I designed 4 Temples - First one a sort of a gateway to the Aztec world, then 3 Temples corresponding to the 3 Deities that appeared in the Slot game.
Each one of the first 3 Temples has a sort of a wheel and the last one - the golden pyramid - has a picker mechanic with multiple Jackpots.
The buildings were modeled in 3D by Niv Caspi,
All the elements inside the wheels were drawn and projected on the model.
In addition to the Temples (the game stages) we needed to create a 3D environment -
This was the initial concept based on the existing temple models:
I hand-painted the texture for the ground and the background, we had some back and forth with the trees until we reached this simplified 3D model.
All 3D done by Ron Abecassis.
That's it for this one - thank you!
