Switzerland is the cheese capital of the world. Each region has its own types of cheese, and Schabziger is the traditional cheese exclusively produced in the Canton of Glarus.
In a celebration of the quality of local cheese, next year the town of Nafels will be the location of a fictional event: a food parade where people with cheese costumes will sample different types of cheese: soft, hard and melted.
Participants would stop off at various stall located along the road to sample the culinary excellence of traditional Swiss cheese cuisine. Participants will be encouraged to wear their best costumes and, in an eclectic mix of characters, the best dressed will receive a prize. The goal of the festival is to promote in a playful way, the culture and diversity of the cheese produced in the region of Glarus.
