What Kind of Project it is:
Free space
Art project exhibited at Main Project 5th Moscow International Biennale for Young Art, "Deep Inside".

Media:
Digital printing.

Concept:
Nowadays rather an impressive amount of surveillance cameras unprotected by a password and transmitting their records directly on the web worck all over the world. It is ever so easy to connect to these cameras. You can even direct some of them, turning them wherever you want. With all that, the owners of these devices remain completely in the dark about the fact that their lives are transmitted on the web to be freely watched by anyone. As for those people who navigate the web to connect to the surveillance, they even acquired a special name to themselves - Video Hams.

I've used an unprotected translation channel from student's gym in the USA, children's shop in Vietnam, glass factory in the USA, doctor's consulting room in Finland, laundry in the USA and stuff room in a coffee-shop in Vietnam. These six web cameras and people in their range served as a kind of artistic media for me, so that I could make six abstract images narrating about the movements of people in a closed space.
