New York Magazine rebranding concept / 2019

New York Magazine is an American biweekly magazine concerned with life, culture, politics, and style generally, and with a particular emphasis on New York City. Founded by Milton Glaser and Clay Felker in 1968 as a competitor to The New Yorker.

Milton Glaser is one of the greatest American graphic designers. He designed the INY logo, the Brooklyn Brewery logo and of course the New York Magazine logo.

I imagined a new logo and identity created from Milton’s legacy. My objective was to make a remarkable logo while keeping the style.

Using the identity fonts - Miller and Egyptienne - I managed to design a new face from the original elements. The intensified colours on the stationary designs and inside of the magazine refer to Milton’s first New York Magazine cover composition.
