Introduzione
Il Palio dei Normanni è una rappresentazione in costume di un fatto storico accaduto circa mille anni fa. Si svolge tutti gli anni a Piazza Armerina, nel cuore della Sicilia, nei giorni 12, 13 e 14 agosto, dal 1952, quando venne realizzata la prima edizione sotto questo nome. Infatti la manifestazione che oggi conosciamo affonda le sue origini tra la fine del XVII e gli inizi del XVIII secolo, quando le allora dodici confraternite della città organizzarono per la prima volta un corteo storico in occasione dei festeggiamenti in onore di Maria Santissima delle Vittorie (che hanno luogo sin dal XIV secolo), noto come la "Cavalcata", appellativo che ancora oggi è usato dagli abitanti per indicare il Palio.
Identità
Il linguaggio visivo mira a rappresentare il carattere dinamico e spettacolare della manifestazione, tramite l'utilizzo dei colori dei quattro quartieri storici e di forme geometriche ispirate agli eventi principali della rievocazione storica.
Il marchio progettato raffigura la divisione della città nei quattro quartieri partecipanti al Palio e ne implementa i colori, la sagoma inoltre rievoca gli elementi tipici delle armature dei cavalieri normanni quali scudo ed elmo.

Introduction
The Palio dei Normanni is a costume representation of a historical event that happened about a thousand years ago. It takes place every year in Piazza Armerina, in the heart of Sicily, on 12, 13 and 14 August, from 1952, when the first edition was made under this name. In fact the manifestation we know today has its origins between the end of the seventeenth and the beginning of the eighteenth century, when the then twelve brotherhoods of the city organized for the first time a historical procession on the occasion of the celebrations in honor of Maria Santissima delle Vittorie (which they take place since the 14th century), known as the "Cavalcata", a name that is still used today by the inhabitants to indicate the Palio.
Identity
The visual language aims to represent the dynamic and spectacular character of the event, through the use of the colors of the four historic districts and of geometric shapes inspired by the main events of the historical re-enactment.The designed brand depicts the division of the city into the four districts participating in the Palio and implements its colors, the shape also evokes the typical elements of the armor of the Norman knights such as shield and helmet.
