Use Cases
A fresh approach to presenting use case scenarios
I've often thought it's ironic that the documents produced by the process of UI analysis and usability studies are not in themselves very usable.

The traditional presentation of use cases has a very formal, dry and unappealing format. Typically a company investing in analysing their users and their tasks in order to understand the roles and goals of users for a particular product or application will end up with a large number of very wordy and frankly boring looking documents. The result being in my experience that actually they do not get read properly - if at all.

I considered an alternative format for presenting the exact same information in an engaging and more visually appealing way. The documents could be interactive, linking to other use case scenarios,  documents, glossary, websites, etc. The look and feel can be customised - branded if necessary, but the design must not overpower the content, merely enhance its presentation.

The presentation below is based on a use case for a generic hardware testbed - eg testing electronic chips, electrical components or devices.
