TAKING TO THE SKIES
Domestic air passenger traffic in India hastripled in the last 10 years due to a mix of factors such as increasing income, falling air fares, improving connectivity to tier 2 regions, and a rise in the number of airlines. After the government opened the skies to private airlines in the 1990s, domestic air traffic has grown nearly 14 times, while international traffic has grown 8.9 times. BY Rajiv Bhuva
