A classroom project done to understand the basic processes used in manufacturing a product. Replication of an existing product on a smaller scale. Different processes used to arrive at desirable results and electronics to used to make the product functional.
Final product, a functional flashlight, a downsized version of a EVEREADY Flashlight, model no. DL-66.
Wooden moulds made in two parts, the base and the tope, joined by a dowel joint. Following that it was cut into two halves so it could be vacuum moulded.
Parts like the handle, slider switch, reflector and the top made by vacuum moulding, out of wood, wire and m-seal.
The flashlight was made functional using a single LED, connected to two Duracell AA batteries placed in a battery holder inside the flashlight. A slider switched connected to the circuit was operated by a switch on the outside was well.
