Origins Campaign for Earth Day 2013

This project is a campaign for Origins to use for Earth Day/Month 2013.  During this month, recycling, reducing waste, and conserving energy, water, etc. is higly celebrated.  Throughout Earth Month, Origins promotes these ideas as well.  On Earth Day, Origins runs an advertisement for a promotion they do every year.  This promotion is to bring in any used cosmetic bottle and you recieve a new full sized product in return.  They call this "Return to Origins."  The recycling program is available all year but this reward is only given on Earth Day.
 
The first aspect of the campaign was to create an Earth Month Visual Identity for Origins.
My final Earth Month Visual Identity for Origins is a representation of two human faces hidden within roots, accompanied by the words "reunite with your roots."  The profiles of the faces within the roots represent our presence as humans in nature.  This reminds us that we are responsible for keepint he earth, our roots, clean.
The second aspect of the campaign was to create the packaging for the products that would be given to customers as a part of the "Return to Origins" promotion. This packaging would be used for Earth Day only.
First, I created a symbol to be used on each package.  The human hand as the stem of the leaf represents our roles in the life of nature.  I was very inspired by the idea of literally "giving" back to nature.  
I then proceeded to apply this symbol to the chosen products: "A Perfect World" and "Checks and Balances".
My final packaging portrays ideas of simplicity, cleanliness, and purtity. 
The next aspect of the campain was to design the advertisement for the "Return to Origins" promotion.
I wanted the advertisement to continue the same clean and fresh feel as the packaging, I was able to keep the simplicity while incorporating eye-catching and fun aspects.  I chose to use the slogan "Don't trash, Trade."  The background design is to add a catchy feminine attitude.
In addition to their Earth Day promotion, Origins launched a program entitled Plant-A-Tree.  This promgram is intended to aid reforestation projects globally.  In partnership with the American Forests Global Releaf and other local organizations, Origins helps plant thousands of trees around the world to create new forests, as well as refurbish existing forests in need.  
 
The last aspect of the campaign was to create an interactive display for Origins to promote Plant-A-Tree.  
Essentially for each "A Perfect World" tinted moisturizer the costumer purchased, a tree would be planted; therefore each person would be providing the benefits of this tree.  
I approached the display with the idea that I wanted each customer to be able to see one way they would be helping the enviornment by supporting Origins Plant-A-Tree.
A large branch would be hanging in each of  the front windows of the store. The branches would be facing toward the center of the store.  Each customer that purchased "A Perfect World" tinted moisturizer would receive a tag of their choice, representing clean air, clean water, or a species of animal that would benefit from their tree.  They would receive the tag at the time of purchase and would have the option to sign or initial the tag.  On their way out, they could stop in front of their display and hang their tag  on either branch.
