A personal drawing I wanted to include was this charcoal drawing I did of a sitting pug. My sister absolutely loves pugs and it is her favorite breed of dog. After speaking to her one day I felt inspired to draw one in my sketchbook for fun. I decided to make this image out of charcoal because I like the sketchy appearance that can be achieved from it's softness. I feel like the shading adds on a soft texture that would be associated with a puppy and was very successful in this piece. Looking back I would like to get better at preventing smudges (like on the back foot), improving anatomy, and maybe try to convey shading through line weight as well.
