Concept, interior design, photography & global identity
This strange name, which literally means "Jeannette & the moped's guys", is a café in the pedestrian heart of the city of Strasbourg (France)...
"Jeannette et les Cycleux", it's about a bunch of mates in the 60's French countryside. Them, inveterate tinkerers of mopeds, they worship mechanical put-putting and they scour the village parties to woo her, ingenuous and sentimental, who persists only to dream about Elvis and America. "Jeannette et les Cycleux" is the creation of a café with the desire to do it differently, by narrating a story which smell good hay and motor grease, better that thinking on impersonal profitability. The scenography of the place is articulating around the relation between these characters, and around evocative elements put together as a patchwork of colours and memories.
Mopeds are displayed as trophies, we take out again the old formica® tables, the jukebox is playing old school rock'n'roll.
