The People's Market Parkville, MO

PHASE ONE - The People's Market in Parkville, Missouri
Searching for Kansas City's Best Things to Do gives many options for what's fun in the city. Markets and outdoor craft shows always draw a crowd. Parkville is a small city with a beautiful University.  The Parkville Farmers Market has the potential to bring in many customers and vendors alike, which would be helpful to the community. To brand a weekend event like this, it's important to research and determine the most productive brand direction. We want the brand to be genuine, and real, but sustainable and profitable to the city's economy and vendors. To guide the visual design in a direction that helps nourish and grow the local commerce is the objective in the first phase. The following images reflect the direction the branding will follow. To know how the first phase was planned out, click here.
The People's Market will be a place where vendors and customers can gather and build lasting relationships through commerce and family friendly activities. For Parkville to build this brand, finding a brand identity is imperative. The mission statement of the brand will be: to provide the community with sustainable commerce and deepening relationships through the expansion of the local market.
Creating a meaningful brand is inspired by those who participate in the markets.
Ray is a Marine Veteran who has retired with his wife. They enjoy their quiet life, but Ray feels that the woodworking is therapeutic and calming. He finds fulfillment in working with his hands and selling his handcrafted wooden spoons to customers he meets at the market. He loves telling stories and meeting new people, while his wife is proud of his hard work and the quality items he sells.
The market stands for many values, but some brand attributes are intentional when developing it's identity. Credibility, sustainability, and inspiration are recognized as such. Not only is there a trust factor when  buying and selling face-to-face, but there is a sense of quality when it is known who gardens and tends to the fruits and veggies you are buying. It's reassuring to know that the products you see at the People's Market are hand made in Missouri by people you call neighbors.
By nourishing the community's commerce, relationships, and popularity through branding the People's Market in Parkville, local businesses thrive, creativity is fed, safe and family oriented activities become popular, and the city benefits for generations to come. It's important to create a brand that';s cohesive and consistent, and showcases the goods and foods being sold. The brand will reflect the brand's essence as well as its mission statement. The brand will reach across all age groups with a strong online presence and merchandise that's recognizable and instills pride in the city.
