Drawing 2, Kolesa, concentration piece 1 (wip)

This is the first piece of my 5 part concentration project. My concentration subject is painting geometric shapes and colors on nature. For my first piece I chose to use a pine cone because the pine cones at my house are massive. There are several things about the ecosystem in my neighborhood that are not normal and this is one of them, another thing that is odd is that the sand hill cranes that live in my neighborhood always have two chicks without fail. I’m getting off topic, anyway, I chose to use purple, blue, and pink because they are very close on the color wheel so that they mix well. I chose not to paint all of the pine cone because I wanted to keep some of the natural nature aspect to it. I believe I could have added white underneath to make to color pop more and it would really show more of the bright colors I was looking for. I do love that I used analogous colors because if I had used more it may have gotten too busy and caused some eye strain.
