• XAM - BLORANGE is a collection of pictures I made for my art therapy sessions through out 2018. Somes I did on my own.
• It started on April, when I first met my doctor and began to do the treatment.
I refused to know if I have any kind of disease (depression, anxiety, etc..) and focus more on how to get through any depressing period.
Finding out that drawing could be a treatment is important to me.
• Whenever I'm suffering, the image just pops into my head, and I pour all of my emotions into visualizing the images (not really special just normal ones), making them more vivid. The process also hurts me physically, like my heart starts beating faster, my hands shaking, sweating, etc. Therefore when I finished each picture, I felt really let out, back to normal state and began to think more positive.
• About the name, I pick blue and orange as the main colors, so it's just a combination. But in Vietnamese, "xam" or "xàm" means silly, dorky :)). The mood of the project is not very funny or amusing, so I add "•" to make it sounds heavier.
• CONCEPT: I realize I have always been obsessed with the idea of The Sun as the source of Happiness, that we all try to search for it in our outer world, like love from other people, career, material life, friendship... When we look for it, we tend to be like Icarus, kept flying toward the Sun until the heat melted our wings, and we died. So in the journey of finding happiness, sometimes you realize it, other times you forget. But it's okay, just remember the Sun inside each one of us will always shine.
