Wishing you a Merry Christmas

Wishing you a
Merry Christmas
For this year Christmas Cards I’ve photographed these three historical crowns at the Louvre Museum.

After a deep research of their context, I've found a connection with the Nativity of Jesus. That's why I’m going to explain The Origins of Christmas through these crowns. They represent an analogy of the crowns of the THREE WISE MEN who visited Jesus when he was born and the context of his birth.

Hope you like them!

The Crown of Charlemagne
Dreams come true
This stunning crown was manufactured for the Emperor Napoleon I for his coronation in December 1804.
Napoleon named it the Crown of Charlemagne, which accomplished HIS DREAM of being compared to the famed mediaeval monarch Charlemagne, King of the Franks and Holy Roman Emperor, who was crowned on CHRISTMAS DAY in the year 800.

· · ·

For hundred years, the Judean people DREAMED of the arrival of their savior, as it was predicted by the Prophets from Isaiah in the Old Testament to Samuel the Lamanite in the Book of Mormon.
"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel" (Isaiah 7:14).

The Crown of Eugénie de Montijo
Follow the Star
This gorgeous crown belonged to Eugénie de Montijo, the last Empress of the French, wife of Napoleon III.
She was very popular within the European nobility and extremely influential in arts, culture and science.
We can FIND HER IN THE SKY, as the astronomer Hermann Goldschmidt named The 45 Eugenia asteroid after her.

· · ·

Just as the birth of Jesus was predicted by the Prophets, so it was that kings would visit him at his birth.
The Three Wise Men knew they had to FOLLOW THE STAR for this purpose.
Arriving to Jerusalem, they asked King Herod, “Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his Star in the east, and are come to worship him” (Matthew 2:2).

The Crown of Louis XV
Magic happens
This crown was created for King Louis XV for his coronation in 1722 by Laurent Ronde, the French Crown jeweler.
All of France's twenty crowns of the Ancient Regime, kept in the Basilica of Saint-Denis, were destroyed during the French revolution.
The crown of Louis XV was THE ONLY ONE TO SURVIVE.

· · ·

King Herod, threatened by Jesus birth as the King of the Jews, ordered the execution of all male babies.
An Angel appeared in Joseph’s dream and warned him, so the Holy Family departed to Egypt, being Jesus THE ONLY ONE TO SURVIVE the Massacre of the Innocents.
“An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying: Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt.” Matthew 2:13
