This dress is composed of screen-printed fabric inspired by thunderstorms and the native Taíno goddess of storms, Guabancex (see Thunderstorm Print Series project). The form is inspired by the traditional Dominican dress, and made as a performative costume- the silver bottom hem representing lightning flashing during the performative dance.
