World Animal Day stamp

World Animal Day —  First was organised in Italy to stop the extinction of wild animals. This day is a tribute for Saint Francis of Assisi who preached in the early 13th century that we must love everything around us weather if it's living or inanimate. Two years after his death, in 1228 he was pronounced a saint. That's why he's remembered every 4 October not only by members of the Franciscan Order but
by animal right activists and conservationists as well.
