Well this was a great deal of fun to do. Extinction Clothing is a brand thats just starting out, they contacted me via Twitter about maybe doing them a logo for their brand. After explaining to them that im more of an illustrative guy than a graphic designer maybe my work would fit better as a shirt design than a logo, and with that off we went!
The brief was very basic, "Something with bones" and aside from that I was free to do what ever I wanted. I went with a Witchdoctor/ Trex hybrid idea.
This was the first extremely scrappy sketch I sent over to the guys and although I wasn't sure that they would like it they told me they loved it and to continue with this path. The text here just stands as a placeholder.
I neatened up the sketch and threw in alot of little elements to try and make it a bit more interesting. I dont know why but I love the look of piercings through bone, maybe a throwback to the Skeletons from RPGs when I was a kid. I also wanted to have some sort of object causing the spell on the monster, I figured why not cheekily throw in my logo as the cause.
So there we have it, a 3 colour print ready for screening onto a shirt. Extinction were happy with the end product and I was happy to be able to try something new out.
