WyrdTree

WyrdTree is a London-based architectural visualization studio, founded in 2018 by two partners, husband and wife, after working for top firms in London for the past 4 years. WyrdTree commissioned us to create a relevant brand image and web presence, in order to target mainly Scandinavian and British architecture studios.

From the very first meetings, it was obvious that the two partners had a passion for norse mythology and culture. The name itself - WyrdTree, is another name for Yggdrasil, which is the tree of life that connects with its roots and branches the nine worlds in norse mythology: Niflheim, Muspelheim, Asgard, Midgard, Jotunheim, Vanaheim, Alfheim, Svartalfheim, Helheim.

Markt created a custom wordmark, built only with sharp angles as a suggestion to the runic alphabets, and a corresponding mark representing the ash tree Yggdrasil.
The symbols are accompanied by a modern geometric typeface and a colour palette based on the distinct nostalgic and melancholic aesthetic that embodies the studio's work.

The result is a modern visual language that complements the studio's unique body of work and places WyrdTree as a top visualization studio within the industry.
