(Art Jakarta 2018).
"We think of land, whether scape or mass, as fixed, plottable and firmly tethered to our Earth. We think of land as thing, not phase. But our planet is a microcosm of densely packed time, holding in its strata every accident, incident, upheaval, motion, and collision. Current continents were once islands, vast floating landmasses breaking apart, Pangea becoming Gondwanaland, the latter becoming India, pushing smaller unfortunate island strings out of its way, on its inexorable drift northwards to ram into Asia."
