BOOK SHELF BAR STOOL | After observing how people read at the breakfast bar, this stool provides a convenient and unique place to store newspapers, magazines and books
A quirky looking stool designed to make astatement whilst having the added functionality of storing the reading materialoften used whilst sat eating at the breakfast bar
The triangular shape allows severalmagazines, newspapers & books to be stored securely and the open right handside acts as a bookmark when an open paper is draped over it
Theanodised aluminium construction gives good strength to weight properties andallows for various colour options, completing the quirky look of the stool
Having decided on a triangularconfiguration for storing the media, I created Photoshop visuals of the sixchosen concepts from which to choose one to develop further
The focus of the early conceptualisationwas around which way was best to stack and store the books, newspapers andmagazines whilst maintaining a visually appealing product
The idea behind the MANTIS came fromobserving how often people read newspapers or magazines at breakfast bars whichare usually narrow places with little room for clutter
