KEOLIS
Toolkit: “Public transport and pedestrians, two allies”
Mission
For some years now, Keolis has integrated walking into its intermodal approach, considering this easy, practical, pleasant way of getting around as a complement to travelling on public transport. Pedestrian signage, pedestrian paths, journey times, new strategies for encouraging walking... in Europe and around the world many towns and cities are exploring and rolling out measures to support and encourage everyday journeys on foot.

Keolis commissioned Yellow Window to create a toolbox intended to serve as a reference for its subsidiaries to provide them with concepts that are easy to duplicate and can be used in their regions.
2015
Result
Yellow Window worked on building a toolbox called “Public transport and pedestrians – two allies” with educational, communication and operational solutions.

The document illustrates and makes the case for the “walking by Keolis” approach, structuring it around the following items:
Discovering: the benefits of walking.
Understanding: a diagnosis of pedestrians’ needs.
Proposing: virtuous transport, combining public transport and walking.
Designing: routes on the ground.
Rolling-out: orientation tools and their uses.
