POMA
Toulouse cable car, France

Mission
Tisséo, the public transport consortium of Toulouse Métropole, awarded Poma the contract for the design, construction and maintenance of the future cable car, which will link three major hubs in Toulouse from 2020.

Poma commissioned Yellow Window to design the cabins with the aim of devising an approach coherent with that of the Toulouse architecture firm responsible for the stations.

Yellow Window supported Poma from the launch of the tender process, and this cooperation will be continued with the industrial specifications for the cabins.

Result
Yellow Window set out to integrate the cabins harmoniously into their environment, which is simultaneously aerial, natural and urban, creating a sensitive world and a reassuring atmosphere that allows people to discover the views offered to passengers.

The aim of the interior design was to allow passengers to appreciate the views before their eyes during their journey. The configuration was staged by focusing on a seated space facing the view.
The atmosphere is calm, peaceful and restful, drawing its references from nature and the world of plants.

Outside, the lower part of the glazed bays is printed with a light motif made of crisscrossing stems, echoing the perforated metal sheeting of the stations. This helps alleviate any potential feeling of discomfort linked to vertigo while preserving the desired transparency.
