Balletto Magazine
Balletto is a magazine focusing on daily news, tips and relatable topics to an artistic hobby – dance. Making a creative mark and understanding the relationship between layout, imagery and type. The challenge of the magazine was create the e-book style but also look into layout design and the balance between imagery and type.
Once finding a place to put them on each page and creating a story-like for the magazine - the name ‘Balletto’ from Italian (where ballet was introduced) was built for the brand by default. I choose ballet based images with interesting action shots. The title and the type communicate well together, showing a professional expertise within the dance industry. Also, adding a feature colour of light pink which is the colour of the traditional ballet shoe.
Building as a functional e-book to work in multiple platforms the main success of this project, but it also gave me the opportunity to show my editorial skills and a sense of art direction into the project.
