Project Overview:

Explore the basics of design systems by creating a cohesive visual language across multiple media platforms for a specific live performance by Post Malone.

A "design system" establishes a shared design language (colors, texture, fonts, images, patterns, hierarchy, etc.) that allows diverse creative and marketing applications to appear visually cohesive. All advertising and production follows a specific style guide to present their diverse range of products as a unified Brand.

Live musical performances present the audience with an array of visual touchpoints. From the stage, to the merchandise for sale, to the style and attitude of the artist, and that of their fans, people go to concerts for the experience. If they enjoy what they see and hear and feel, then they often want to take a part of the experience home with them. They photograph and video live performances, they buy promotional merchandise, and they collect posters, all to commemorate the moment.

Design Direction - My AP Goin' Psycho

Post often discusses how he feels as though he became famous overnight. His sudden fame has lead him to generate multiple songs about how he feels, and how his fame has altered his life forever. My AP Goin’ Psycho highlights Post’s struggle to live in the moment and adjust to change.

Design Style:

Realistic 3D design combined with a slight grunge style. Post features this style often in his album covers. The use of components generated in 3D allows for unrestricted construction and manipulation of the assets for music videos, merchandise, album covers, and promotional content for tours.
