Galt® Velvet Style Illustrations

Brief: Illustrates 5 scenes for a unisex target market aged 3+. The scenes need to be simple to allow the child to colour in, but also interesting, fun, but not busy. The illustrations need to be black and white, with the black representing the velvet.
Initial research looked into existing Galt® Velvet Art as well as trends in the toy market. Following this, five categories were chosen to narrow down ideas and ensure variety among them. These were: Easter (seasonal at the time of creation); fantasy; habitat; science; countries. Two scenes were hand drawn for each category.
Easter sketches - Easter hunt and Easter bunny
Fantasy sketches - flying unicorn and sleeping dragon
Habitat sketches - camel in Egypt and tropical birds in the rainforest
Science sketches - rocket ship in space and lab experiment
Countries sketches - Tower Bridge and Roman soldier in the Colosseum
After drawing out the scenes, one from each category was chosen to be digitally recreated in the Galt® Velvet style.
