We were pleased to be able to participate in this title sequence for a new TV shows: The Love Knot: His Excellency's First Love, directed by film director Leste Chen. This is a love story between a reporter Pi Pi Quan and an mysterious man who was a fox spirit.
The director came to us, asking for a title that tells the prologue of the "fox spirit" before they came to earth. The fox spirit (狐狸精) or nine-tailed fox (九尾狐), having been originated from Chinese mythology, are often depicted as mischievous, usually tricking other people, with the ability to disguise as a beautiful woman.
We had only around 6 weeks to complete a 2:20 min long sequence, but we knew we want to take this opportunity to create a beautiful and unique style that embodies the essence of the show, a love story that originates from the Chinese mythology. The director wanted to piece to feel elegant but also light-hearted, we had a great time working on the story with a lot of Easter eggs hidden throughout, and was really please with how the style came out.
Digital Domain ShangHai 受台湾新锐导演陈正道委托，为其新作爱情奇幻剧-《结爱·千岁大人的初恋》，创意和设计制作背景介绍影片。我们与极具个人风格的插画师“半半1194”合作，从创意到设计，期望达成兼具古风，个性而又有趣，清奇兼具可爱的视觉呈现方式。从狐族自身，狐族星球的设定，再到狐族进化巨幅图谱的展现，我们期望在与历史故事的紧密结合中引出故事的发生 , 在极具中国风的视觉表达中铺陈到现代的剧情。
