Celebrity Cruises: from pitch to product

Celebrity Cruises: pitch to product

Brief: Create a product and service pitch, complete with website homepage design mock-up, A4 landscape printed book and digital book example to send to international luxury cruise liner company, Celebrity Cruises, in a bid to pique their interest in Photodeli's online template-based photobook service (referred to as Guest Signature products) that the company could offer to their clients on- and off-board their cruise liners.
Challenge: Create and complete all aspects of the presentation in 6 days without any branding guidelines or CI elements from Celebrity Cruises.
Outcome: I feel quite happy with the outcome of this project. It was a lot to execute in 6 days, but I think it turned out well given the tight turn-around timeframe and the fact that I had to source all resources myself.
Step 2 of the presentation includes a link to the Celebrity Reflection Guest Signature website powered by Photodeli (Celebrity Reflection is one of the liners underneath the Celebrity Cruisers umbrella). This is where Celebrity Cruises customers will be able to access the custom product templates created for Celebrity Cruises. Below is what the homepage of the site would look like...
...and what the product page would look like.
On the Interactive Digital Book page in the presentation, we have included another link. This one clicks through to a full Digibook demo of what a digibook product would really look like when ordered by a customer. Of course, all the personalised images you see would be the customer's images of their Celebrity Cruises trip that they've uploaded via our software and dropped into the template we've pre-created for them online.

We often pitch the Digibook template as a product that the client can offer their customers free of charge as an incentive to create their printed book. For this reason, the Digibook often includes a promotional video on the second page and between three and five marketing pages at the end of it. If the Digibook is offered as a paid-for product, the client can choose to not include the marketing video and pages.
Below is an example of what the printed book looked like. The opening pages would be
pre-created by me using professional photos supplied by Celebrity Cruises or purchased stock photos based on all the locations that the cruise liner would dock at. I would then upload the set pages to the book template online for the customer to drag and drop where they want. The date of arrival text block would be customised by the client in the online software based on when they docked at a particular place. For the demo printed book, I just used any suitable images I could find to create the mock opener pages (left page).
The customer's personalised pages would then follow each section opener, in this case, on the right.
