Brief: Creating product labels for the first range of Cape Vintage’s candles and body scrubs
Challenge: The client had multiple inconsistencies and spelling errors across the product text/copy so I flagged it with them and corrected what I could.
Outcome: The client wanted a look and feel that was natural with a touch of vintage feel so I felt inspired by the retro idea of pressed/dried flowers that was a trend in the 1980s (and made a big comeback in 2021) coupled with a rustic brown paper texture and more modern handwritten font that gives a nod to the freehand/doodle artwork style that is on trend at the moment. The coloured flower buds round the border of the label also change colour depending on the primary and secondary scent ingredients. The colour scheme of the label influences the colour of the product theme (eg. Serenity, Harmony, etc).
