Board Game Friendly

Board Game Friendly Project
WHAT IS IT? After entering a place where people regularly meet to play board games and nothing there provided such indication, Miguel Rodrigues shared on Facebook the idea of creating a couplet, symbol, or logo to identify places and/or Establishments where anyone can go and spend time playing board games. Shortly after the sharing, the idea was already alive. After Ricardo Ferreira gave it a shape and developed it with the feedback of the community of Boardgamers, it was presented at LeiriaCON where the support was even higher.
Board Game Friendly is the result of sharing ideas and a hobby that we want to see reflected everywhere.
TO WHO IS IT INTENDED? If you own a space, open to the public, where people can meet to play board games, then this is for you. There are people that when travelling around they simply bring their games in their pockets or backpacks and if they have to stop for a cup of coffee, have a drink, snack, etc... they would prefer a place where they can pull their game and play a few rounds while enjoying the meal/drink. This place could be yours!
Advantages... Board game players are usually nice and happy people and are used to play by the rules. Part of the objective of playing board games is the social interaction with other people, friends and sometimes even with strangers. Sharing a space like for example a café with these characters will bring good atmosphere to the establishment and also some additional income if they are well received. The potential is huge, playing board games is better disseminated in other European countries and America than in Portugal, so the Board Game Friendly tag will empower these sites as likely destinations of tourist and other travelers.
