ESCAPE FESTIVAL
‘Escape’ is a new Festival based in Somerset Hills, UK. The festival was looking for a modern brand identity to help generate interest in the build up to their launch in late summer. The client required a new logo and set of icons they could use in the initial marketing materials for the festival. The client is hoping to attract young professionals and families and will also host a series of events encouraging people to get outdoors.
I used this project to practice minimalism and dive into mid-century modern design. In my initial stages of sketching, I found a circular shape recurring often, representing the Earth, family, and connection. I combined this with a vibrant color palette to make the background for the main logo and for the iconography. The typography in the main design is “escaping” the background, conveying the festival’s intention of escaping daily life. I then created VIP badges, wristbands, and business cards to complete the festival identity.
