Each year, the ABA studies the impact of technology on the profession by commissioning a study of how lawyers are implementing new technology in their private practices. The annual report looks at some of the major trends and then publishes a series of articles based on its findings. The most significant findings are as follows:
For 2017, the ABA found that almost a third of firms that have between 10 and 49 lawyers on staff have dealt with some kind of a security breach. Additionally, more than a quarter of the practices that took part in the study said that they had at least one client who engaged with them via a social media referral.
