Description
This project was designed to quiz students on super moons.
Target Audience
High school students who are taking an introductory lesson on super moons.
1.0 Create a comprehensive project presentation in the form of a video
2.0 Describe the project outcomes and learning experience from the course through a concise, well-written documentation
3.0 Demonstrate technical accuracy and attention to detail
Purpose
Quiz students on different characteristics of super moons.
The above video presents an interactive quiz coded with Brackets, and contains narration.
The questions are based on the video A Supermoon Trilogy from NASA's Sciencecast site. The questions ensure that students learned from the NASA video, by asking relevant questions and providing possible answers. The answers all sound plausible, so learners will really need to know the correct answer in order to get the questions right.
While the interactive quiz itself is multiple choice, there are two authentic assessment questions that were addressed:
1. Why does the moon take on a reddish hue during a total lunar eclipse?
2. Explain what a Super Blue Blood Moon is.
The following Measureable Learning Outcomes are addressed in the interactive quiz:
1. Define what a supermoon is.
2. Compare the differences between Apogee and Perigee, Blood Moons, Blue Moons, and Super Blood Blue Moons.
Even though the interactive quiz is multiple choice, the questions and answers provided require the learner to truly have a knowledge of the above concepts. Thus, the interactive quiz is an effective assessment.
