FEEBLE FADS || ISTD || STUDENT PROJECT

The internet has allowed the fast pace of fads to move in and out at super speed. This reflects in the relavence of these fads. Most of the time they have no cause or purpose. My aim is to express the lack of intent there is in internet fads and therefore the following of them. The piece itself works as a metaphor in that no knowledge is gained, however it does serve a purpose, and that is to intrigue and to provoke a deeper thinking into what we spend our time on

The feeble fads and fickle followers is an iteractive piece consisting of 4 boxes, each box lies within another box. Each with it's own message to contribute to the intention of the peice. The boxes within the boxes represent the how far down the rabbit hole the internet can go, as well as the many layers that lie beneth the surface of the news feed on social media pages

Map showing the geographic location of followers. The followers are location specific due to uncontrolled internet access
The last box initially appears blank, however it contains a white poster, and a booklet explaining the concept of the box itself and what it represents
The only text on the white poster, "have purpose"
