"Hagga's Last Vattiegirl", a Caribbean picture book.

Illustrations for "Hagga's Last Vattiegirl".
I had gotten my first children's book project during my Final Year show exhibition in 2012. after a lot of growing pains, "Hagga's Last Vattiegirl" debuted in 2015 and is a Caribbean-themed fairy tale chock full of magic. Written by Vivien Sebille, the book was donated to a girl's home on Jamaica's North Coast.

For more information on "Hagga", please read my process post over on Langi Lala Studios.
Small and shy Daphne peeks from behind her house mother, Ala, and her more gregarious house sisters.

Terrified after Zona suddenly disappears, the remaining girls race for the safety of Castle Osun.
Cutting through a sugarcane field, the boys drag Zona back to Hagga's cave. Unseen, Daphne watches from behind a few cane stalks.
With both Daphne and Zona missing, the other girls are left sick with worry.
Crouched behind some bushes, a determined Daphne watches as Hagga and the Boys retreat to their cave for the night. Once they're asleep, her work begins.
Laden with water gourds, Daphne leads her house sisters, her house mother Ala, and the sorceress Minona to their final task.
Thank you!
