Sooner or later I knew that Yggdrasil would have to make a Leprechaun game, since it's a very popular theme in certain markets. In my opinion most of these games all look the same, and not in a good way. So as Art Director, I wanted to create a game with polished graphics and cool FX. I pitched the idea for Ryan to be a Rock & Roll Leprechaun, that plays the actual game music, and have the music escalate as the player plays the game. The music part turned out to be a huge undertaking, but our Talented Mathematicians pulled it off and took it even further.
I handed an initial sketch of Ryan to our concept artist and he reworked the character until we ended up with a design we all liked. We wanted him to play his guitar in-sync with the game music, so we also had to pay attention to the various hand movements when Rockers play their guitars.

During the game, Ryan can randomly activate 2 to 6 synchronized reels.
This was a really fun game to work on with our talented crew of Artists, Animators, Developers & Game Producers.
