Sabrina Blackwell's profile

Texas Food & Wine Foundation

In September of this year, I volunteered with AIGA Austin for CreateAthon, a 24-hour non-stop all-nighter where we were assigned a team and a non-profit with their wish list. At the end of 24 hours at Build-A-Sign we presented a brochure, contact cards, an information booklet, web calendar, a Twitter background, rack cards and more to a very happy non-profit.

The Texas Wine and Food Foundation members raise money to fund culinary scholarships, educate foodies and do community outreach all while enjoying their combined passions for food and wine. Their events include galas, dinners, fine and rare wine auctions, tastings and social pairings. Our challenge was to maintain the current membership of wine enthusiasts and expand to a younger foodie audience.

The best part about the experience was being able to work with a great team and collaborate to create something wonderful for others. Everyone on my team was positive, helpful and we all worked together very well -- some of us even had to share a computer and take turns. Every piece was touched by every person on the team and we were very proud of our work.

Cheers!
