POZNAN FOOD DAYS 2017

Visual identity for Poznan Food Days – 5day culinary event, combining many gastronomy attractions, film shows, that showcase the different flavors of various cuisines. In our project we have set aside the standards used in the catering industry, we gave up photos and illustrations of food. We created simple but appetizing icons, which are associated with food. 

We used clean, bright hues, common with summer and gastronomy. The festival shows various cuisines, we didn’t want to illustrate the food in a literal way, so we’ve decided that abstract pattern fits into any kind of cuisine. Further, event identification is compatible with the Poznan identification system, by using the blue star as a symbol that correlates with rest of icons, connecting with them conceptually and colorfully. The grid-based, responsive design allows for the efficient creation of numerous promotional materials in a variety of formats. Usage: posters, flyers with map, badges, stickers, banners, bags, t-shirts and animations, enriched with music, sounds of the restaurant and animated pictograms of individual events. 

Visual identification helped create a positive and attractive image of the event itself and also of the city Poznan. The outdooring campaign, using such simple symbols, facilitated the remembering and identification with the event throughout whole Greater Poland. Various advertisements, drafts of posters, gadgets perfectly reflected the character of the summer urban event. Visible throughout the city, media, promotional bags and t-shirts attracted inhabitants, tourists and food fans from whole Poland.
