Event Branding and Logos

A variety of the logo design and branding concepts I created for events produced by ALIVE Magazine.
The look was then applied to various promotional materials including posters, postcards, full page advertisements, digital marketing materials and occasionally a billboard. I created the logo, conceptualized the look and in some cases art directed the background photography in addition to laying out the promotional materials. The logos share a commonality of being one color and a minimal aesthetic, in order to be used in future events with a background refresh.
Logo and branding for ALIVE's wedding showcase event.
This bright floral image was the primary background and a secondary version of mint green frosting was also used.
I wanted the feel of the event to be modern and a celebration, nothing too formal or traditional to stand out from other bridal showcases.
Logo and branding for ALIVE's retail discount shopping event.
I wanted the logo to be clean and modern, with easy to read type that felt sophisticated. The minimalist design is on trend with current fashion branding and was able to carry over year to year with a simple refresh of the background imagery. The second year of the event I collaborated with Clementine Studio out of Chicago to get custom watercolor illustrations using past fashion models and clothing suggestions from the Fashion Editor as inspiration.
Logo and branding for Mosby Building Arts' home tour event in collaboration with ALIVE.
We wanted to push the company's traditional aesthetic to make the event feel modern and appealing to a younger demographic. The bright color of the chair used in the design, vibrant backgrounds and minimalist logo helped achieve that look.
Logo and branding for ALIVE's burger competition with local top chefs.
I wanted the look to feel like branding you would see at a local burger joint, using the craft paper background to resemble the wrapping and type that is clear to communicate the event concept.
Logo and branding for ALIVE's local maker event.
I wanted the logo lockup to feel like a stamp, signifying the homemade feel. The desaturated trees in the background give the indie vibe of the event while also alluding to where a lot of products originate from (paper, wood, etc.).
Logo and branding for ALIVE's masculine focused maker event.
This event ran two years, so I wanted to create a logo lockup that had the minimal/indie vibe of the event while also able to be used year to year with a refresh in background. The first year we ran the slate, wood and beer macro photography as the imagery to add texture and hint to event details. The second year I art directed photos taken by Matt Pfaff of three local makers in town Firecracker Press, Collin Garrity and Carmelita Nuñez.
Logo and branding for the Fashion Entrepreneur Competition presented by Caleres and Saint Louis Fashion Week.
The challenge with this logo and branding was incorporating an existing look from Saint Louis Fashion Week and creating something new that felt a part of the unit. I also incorporated the angular design but ran it in primarily black and grey for an updated look.

Logo and branding for ALIVE's LGBTQ pride party.
I wanted to create a logo lockup that felt sophisticated and modern. The directional arrows symbolize moving forward and are also reminiscent of military patches which relate to the everyday discrimination battles that community faces. The imagery consisted of portraits shot by Matt Kile highlighting three important members of the St. Louis community. I wanted it to feel strong and give a face to the community.
