WE GOT GAMES
We Got Games is an independently owned video game store that is located in Ontario. Their main location is located in Brampton, while their second location which was just recently opened in May of 2017, is located in Etobicoke. As We Got Games settles into their new location in Etobicoke, the owner of the store decided that store needed a fresh new look to help draw in new customers. The owner of We Got Games had no desire to change his already iconic wordmark. All the owner required was new looking business cards and signs that would help promote the stores information, sale promotions and help express the store’s personality by one glance. The only requirement was to use the store’s current wordmark and try to stick with the stores colour pallet which consisted of white, black and blue.
The main concept for the business cards and signs was to promote to the viewer that the store specializes in selling retro video games, new video games, and movies. To convey this message, simple vector images were created that resemble iconic game cartridges such as NES, SNES, and N64. A CD vector was created to represent new video games and movies that the store sold. The vector images were created in a blue hue to help create a connection between the store’s wordmark and companies brand. A sans-serif typeface was used on both the business cards and signs to help create a visible and clean look to the design. A sans-serif typeface was also used as the body text to help create a harmonies relationship between the We Got Games wordmark. Since using the new signs and business card, the store has had positive feedback and has been viewed and perceived by a large sum.
