DISCOVERY
About & Background
Naboo is a bot technology aggregator of e-commerce data helping buyers to take fast informed decisions about best products online. This aggregator helps potential buyers find information about a product without having the user browse dozens of reviews and product comparisons. The user makes a query inside the application and the aggregator will search through online resources (product manuals, reviews) and answer the user with relevant product data.
Goal
Design a responsive web widget to be integrated on the merchant’s website where buyers can access product data by asking the AI a question about the product they intend to buy.
Problems/Challenge
How to display large product data in a way that is accessible and easily scannable/understood at a glance by both typical & non-typical users?
Lots of data pertaining to different categories and coming from different sources (Experts, Users, Product Manuals) that had to be displayed in a comprehensive, organised and uncluttered way and augmented with strong visual cues for rapid scanning/understanding and low cognitive effort.
RESEARCH
After researching, exploring and testing best practices for data representation (data-mining tools & apps, sci-fi films, video game dashboards), I decided to use piecharts and progress bars to show the number of positive and negative reviews for every product feature.

IDEATION
Wireframes (low-fidelity)
Solution validation - graphic visualisation of data using piecharts and progress bars able to easily and effectively communicate large amounts of data.

The colour palette was inspired by the chromatic environments, dashboard designs and interactive screens in video-games & sci-fi films (Minority Report, Blade Runner, Expanse, etc). Blue and green suggest security, technology, future, progress, data, trust, reliability.
