Brazil to Brent Exhibition

To coincide with the 2016 Rio Olympics, Brent Museum held an exhibition celebrating the Brazilian community in the area! And with that my design partner and I were commissioned to create marketing materials as well as the exhibition panels for it.
'Brazil to Brent' Invite
With Brazil conjuring up images of nature, this factored into the look and feel of the exhibit as a whole and with there being a tree installation we were asked to reference it in the invites and posters.

A welcome challenge to tackle was involving both English and Portuguese text in all of our outcomes, laid side by side people can compare the languages which are differentiated by colour.

A word many will associate with Brazil is ‘vibrancy’ which we wanted to communicate through the colours of the Brazilian flag and the use of gouache for the backgrounds.
This would be my first exhibition design project of the year and it would turn out to be one of the most visual exhibitions we have been a part of with the panels only forming part of the exhibition with interactivity playing a bigger role. It was an exciting brief to work on with inclusion of illustrated maps and is the kind of work designers crave, one map highlighted the Brazilian businesses along Willesden High Road while the other a map of Brazil made up of objects and quotes taken from a film made for the exhibit.
