Grad Stories
Online Films, Social Media Campaign and Microsite

Overview
Sometimes, the most incredible stories originate in our own backyards. This indeed has been the case for The University of Western Australia, which has an amazing pool of inspirational alumni.

UWA enlisted us to create a campaign that would inspire the wider community (including those looking to start their career journey) via people who found their feet at UWA. With that in mind, we created a platform to bring to life these stories of UWA's alumni; showcasing those who have won Nobel Prizes, helmed ground-breaking research, overcome significant obstacles in life or who have put aside their own material needs to make life better for others.

Creative Approach
The campaign is an ongoing series of animated interviews featuring alumni who truly embody the idea of pursuing impossible. The animations help us tell the whimsical side the stories. Additionally, as the UWA alumni are now spread around the world, animation helps overcome geographical constraints. The videos are shared via a social media campaign and also sit on a standalone microsite for the university, accompanied by long-form biographical stories.

My role
Along with the initial concept phase of the campaign, my role has been researching each individual, interviewing them (either by Skype or in person), developing their scripted story for animation and writing their long-form story for the website.
