Background
This was my logo design style for my previous web portfolio back in 2011. It was based on the amazing logo for dvein by Àlex Trochut. Loved the ribbon style, with the reflections and the shadows. It had also a great soft noise treatment on top.
The Process
It all started in Adobe Illustrator sketching and shaping with the Wacom tablet. I cut piece by piece all the parts for each letter and then I introduced them in Cinema 4D. I threw couple of lights in the scene in order to have an idea of how the lights will interact in real life with these ribbons and shapes.
After all that, I went back to Illustrator and finish and polish all the lines, shapes and vectors. Once I had all the main shape done, I opened Photoshop and started to introduce lights and shadows as the C4D file showed. The last step was to refine levels and curves and finally the amount of noise.

In a nutshell it was a great personal project and I learnt a lot about how 3D software could help the graphic design to be more realistic and appealing.
